Padang Beef Jerky Indonesian Traditional Food

Padang Beef Jerky Indonesian CulinaryIngredients

Main Ingredients

  •  1 kg Beef;
  •  ½ kg Potato;

Spices for Braising the Meat

  • 7 cloves of Garlic, puree;
  • 2 tsp Salt;
  • 2 tablespoons Lime Juice or Tamarind Water;
  • 3 sheets of Bay Leaves;
  • 800 ml of Coconut Water,

 

you may use plain water. If you use a pressure cooker, then you need more water to add, which is around 1000 to 1200 ml;

  • 1 piece of Ginger, crushed;
  • 15 whole red chilies, optional.

Ingredient for Balado spicy sauce

  • Coarsely Mashed Spices
  • 250 gr to 300 gr curly red chili or big red chili, suit your taste.

Finely Mashed Spices

  • 200 gr or about 4 Tomatoes;
  • 120 gr or about 12 cloves of Shallots;
  • 6 cloves of Garlic.

Additional Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp Lime Juice;
  • 200 to 400 ml of water (leftover meat stew);
  • 5 Lime Leaves;
  • ½ tbsp Sugar, optional;
  • ¼ tsp Salt;
  • 1 tsp Broth Powder.
