Cook: 15 to 30 minutes

Ingredients

  • Pista :- 1 cup
    Sugar :- 1 cup
    Water :- 1/2 cup
    Ghee :- 3/4 cup
    Khoya/mawa :- 1/2 cup
    Cardamom powder :- 1/2 tsp
    Green food color :- few drops
    Silver foil (varak) :- for decorations

Method

  • In warm water, blanch pista for about five minutes.
  • Remove the external skin of pista nuts and roast on medium flame until nuts become crispy.
  • Switch off the flame and place the nuts in a hot pan for ten minutes. Then powder in a blender until the fine rawa consistency is reached.
  • Blend water and sugar together in the deep bottomed pan and cook until 1 string consistency is achieved.
  • Add pista powder and mawa cook until it mixes well.
  • Add ghee slowly and stir till it leaves the sides of the pan.
  • Pour this mixture on to the greased plate.
